The SAC houses four recreational courts and an indoor walking track on the activity level. How? On three sides of the upper level of the arena, the retractable seating folds back to reveal recreational courts. They are usually referred to by their location in the building: the West Court, the Northwest Court, the Northeast Court, and the East Court.

Recreational courts that are scheduled for "freeplay" are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Volleyball and badminton nets can be set up upon request if a court is available. Activities that endanger other participants or may cause damage to the floor surface are prohibited, unless the court is reserved for that purpose and safety precautions have been taken in advance.

As part of the University's campus-wide smoking policy, Belk Gymnasium and the Student Activity Center are smoke-free buildings. Smokeless tobacco is not permitted on the recreational courts or track.

Proper attire is required in order to utilize the recreational courts or track, including closed-toe, closed-heel athletic shoes with non-marking rubber soles.
